Arrow Electronics, an American company that specializes in the distribution of electronic components, recently showcased its IoT solutions during the Microsoft IoT in Action event held in Seoul, South Korea.
Two of the company’s showpieces centered on the Internet of Things. One is the Waspmote, which is a sensor system created with the help of Libelium - a manufacturer of wireless sensor network devices. Waspmote monitors weather conditions, water, and air to trigger alerts in case there are extreme events.
Arrow Electronics also introduced an agricultural solution that is created to monitor the greenhouse environments. It is an IoT solution that provides analytical details that will enable the administrators to further improve their operations.
The company also showcased Arrow Connect, which they consider as a third major solution. Built using Microsoft Azure, Arrow Connect is a cloud platform that enables the secure and seamless flow of data on a device to any cloud. In a statement provided by Arrow Electronics, it said that the solution can “securely provision and manage all IoT devices.”
The solutions were featured by the American company after they have been designated in the Asia-Pacific region as a Windows IoT distributor.
Nicole Denil, general manager or Microsoft’s Global OEM IoT Channel Sales, shared that when the solutions are connected to AI and cloud services, it can provide new business opportunities and insights.
