One of the main fears of consumers nowadays is people hacking into their devices and stealing their personal information. This has been an issue for as long as personal computers got connected to the internet, but with the advent and eventual gain in massive popularity of smart devices, smartphones and other connected technology, the issue has become a more complicated problem. A new security device, however, might help ease your worries a little bit.
A European company called Privise has just recently launched its new product, the Webcam Cover. This device was designed to help consumers to better guard themselves against webcam hacking, one of the more popular methods that criminals use to spy on people and steal important information about them.
The current CEO of Privise, Mihael Sabeder, stated in an article that appeared on Dealerscope that this cover was produced and packaged in Germany. The main idea is that it can fit on any smartphone, tablet, or computer webcam easily. The product is designed to be less than a millimeter thick so as not to interfere when the laptop is being closed. It works by sticking to the device with a very high-quality 3M adhesive that attaches firmly but can also be removed cleanly without leaving any sticky residue for up to three times. These covers, which are being sold in packages of 1, 3, 5, and 10 sets, are designed to slide over the camera of any gadget with a simple swipe of the finger. They come in either black or white color.
Such a simple device can keep people from having a lot of stress and fear who are worried that their webcams are being hacked, which, nowadays, can easily be done with software that is readily available online.
For additional security, there is also an RFID-blocking card that is to be placed in the user’s wallets. It is also available on the same platform as the Webcam Cover.
